Evil Within is a horror survival game, but it is a game that does not rely on cheap jump scares in order to build its feat factor. The game is driven by a very slow but a sustained and a pervasive feeling of dread that is going to set the player’s mind racing whenever they hear the glass shattering under their feet or whenever they hear the groaning sound of an unseen opponent that lurks in the shadows. Most of the tension that players will feel is a result of the striking and magnificent use of the atmosphere. It is very impactful and gloomy.
